The area

The village of Harby is situated on the Nottinghamshire / Leicestershire border in the picturesque Vale of Belvoir.

There is a pub with excellent food just 5 minutes’ walk away from The Stables. A village shop with Post Office and petrol station is open daily with an adjacent cafe serving hot breakfasts, sandwiches and lunches every day except Sunday. Several highly rated pubs serving great food are within a few miles of the village.

The Grantham Canal with its attractive 33-mile towpath between Nottingham and Grantham runs through the village and is popular with walkers.

Cyclists enjoy the challenging gradients of the Belvoir escarpment, on top of which sits the stunning Belvoir Castle, just 6 miles away. Nottingham is 14 miles to the west and the market town of Melton Mowbray is 9 miles south.

If you wish to bring your own bikes we can offer secure storage for the duration of your stay.

Wedding venue Langar Hall is 2 miles away, and parachutists using Langar Airfield have just a mile to travel.
